Romantic centerpiece design with dahlias, grasses, and the last blooms of fall.
October brings the final flush of flowers before frost, when dahlias glow in rich jewel tones and the gardens are filled with grasses, seed heads, and textures that speak of the season’s change. In this design workshop, we’ll celebrate the beauty of autumn’s transition by gathering the last abundance of blooms and foraged elements and combining them with moody, imported stems to create a voluptuous, romantic & garden-inspired centerpiece. This workshop is perfect for those who have taken the foundations course, and want to exercise their design muscle a bit more.
Each student will receive a unique vessel — yours to keep — and learn how to design a dramatic centerpiece that captures the depth, warmth, and wildness of the end of Autumn. With step-by-step instruction and guidance, you’ll discover how to balance bold color with natural texture, creating an arrangement that reflects the fleeting beauty of the season while showcasing your own stamp of originality. Skills learned in this design class can easily be translated onto your Thanksgiving dining table a few weeks later.
This class is both a celebration of the last light of Autumn and an invitation to slow down, notice, and bring nature’s final song of the year into your home.
